Finished Edge Applique Garlands

These instructions will help with all applique garlands. ie the Ice Cream Cone, the Rattle, the Cupcakes, Christmas Puddings, the elephant bunting, and the baby block alphabet.. Also the Beach Hut Bunting, Birdhouse bunting, the fish bunting, The Halloween Pumpkin bunting, the heart bunting,Easter Egg Bunting, and the owl bunting First hoop up some heavy tear-away, stabilizer. Then lay the base fabric of your choice over the hoop. For these particular garlands, I prefer a quilting cotton. Then sew the layers of fabric, trimming each as you go.

tape matching base fabric to the back of the hoop making sure that it covers the design. Now turn back and resew the running stitch outline, and trim both sides around the edge. Then the eyelets and the final satin trim .It will be your last color. (With the baby's rattle, this is when the ribbon is sewn on)

Pop your embroidered garland piece from the hoop, tear away the stabilizer from the edge. Pierce the eyelets for threading your ribbon, thread with a big fat darning needle. Voila!
